OUR BOARD
Fiscal responsibility is something we take seriously.
Established by five longtime Corte Madera residents in 1994 as a California non-profit corporation, the Foundation is run entirely by a 14 member Board of Directors serving on a volunteer basis. All of us live in Corte Madera.
Everything we do is for the benefit of Corte Madera and its residents. All funding decisions are carefully evaluated by the Board, which determines the merit of each application and the appropriate level of support. All the funds we raise through your donations stay in Corte Madera to help meet local needs.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee Medical School in 1970, I headed west and completed my residency at Kaiser Hospital in San Francisco. I practiced Emergency Medicine there until retiring in 2010.
As a 45 year resident of Corte Madera, I have enjoyed being involved in the community, first as our representative on the Ross Valley Paramedic Board and later on our Flood Board and our Planning Commission.
I am also a long-time member of the Lions Club and the Beautification Committee. However, I am most proud of my involvement with the Foundation and what we have accomplished over the years.

I have lived in Corte Madera for 27 years. Before joining the board, I volunteered as a coach for Little League baseball, CYO basketball, and youth soccer.
My primary activity on the board is to help run the summer concert series that presents 12 weeks of live music on Sunday evenings in Menke Park. The music covers many genres, from blues to rock to bluegrass to soul.
I am married to Barbara Solomon and have two adult children who were educated in the local public schools. I work as a criminal defense attorney in San Francisco.
